|||||my eye is throbbing||]|
Ok so it's that time again...time for me to feel stabbing pain at inappropriate times, that is. I called in at work last night because it felt like I was developing corneal ulcers in my left eye again (as in, my eye hurt so bad from just the strength of my overhead light that it was watering constantly). I called the eye doctor this morning since the pain had gotten worse as I slept and he fit me in at 9:15. I managed to drive to the doctor's by holding the irritated eye shut so that the other could see well enough to stay on the road. I got there and told him what I thought it felt like (I last had corneal ulcers 4 years ago but they aren't something you forget). He took one look at my eyes and said that I was exactly right. I now have drops for antibiotics and pain control that I have to use 4 times a day and I can't wear my contacts for at least a week. Overall it's not so bad, though I still have a lot of problems with bright light. Since I rarely wear my glasses, I have no prescription sunglasses to wear outside, so every time I walk out into the sun it feels like a needle stabbing into my eye but at least it doesn't roll back in my head anymore. So yeah, if you see me in the next few days and my eye looks really red you'll know why. I know I'm going to have to tell a couple hundred more customers that I don't have pink eye tonight. Joy. THe best part of all of it is that I am, of course, right in the middle of moving out of my apartment so I have to try and do about a hundred things while feeling like this. Oh well, it'll get done and the numbing drops do help. Back to packing...
